Purpose of the job

Supervise and develop the Transport outbound team in order to meet KPI and exceed customer expectations. The team is responsible for ensuring that Samsung deliveries are delivered on time in full and to ensure timely and proactive information on the status of deliveries. The department closely works together with logistic service providers and our customer; Samsung Electronics.

1. Customer service

  • Act as first point of contact for customers regarding transportation and provide timely and proactive information to customers in case of delays or potential risks.

2. Tracking

  • Coordinates daily activities to track location and movement of inventory finished goods and raw materials via all transport modes, and re-routes freight as needed to meet demands and minimize cost. 
  • Execute risk assessment to spot delay of shipments at an early stage and take appropriate actions to minimize impact.

 

3. Service providers

  • Works closely with transport service providers to assure efficient and effective execution of processes and monitors and discusses performance of transport service providers. In case performance is not up to expected level, you make sure they take corrective action.
  • Responsible for keeping the on-time delivery KPI and on-time information of delivery KPI above agreed target.

4. Human Resource Management

  • Organize recurring team meetings and meetings with individual team members in order to create an optimum working environment within the department
  • Execute general HR responsibilities such as job interviews, performance evaluation, follow up on sickness.
  • Build trust among team members in order to create shared responsibility

5. Continuous improvement

  • Initiate, implement and lead continuous improvement projects.

Profile

  • Bachelor level
  • 3 years or more experience within Transport organizing roles
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • MS Word and Excel at advanced level
  • Experience in serving customers and solving logistic challenges
  • Knowledge of transportation systems
