You'll be acting as a primary point of contact for operational teams in case of system issues. You diagnose the situation both administratively and (if required) physically and determine the necessary actions to be initiated.
You will analyze current operational warehouse and transport processes and develop, suggest and implement improvements to improve operation quality, efficiency and/or reduce costs. Develop and support implementation of (new) processes/innovations as part of new operations or business process changes. Manage small to medium size projects and lead them to a successful finish.

Purpose of the job

1.    First line system support

  • Manage operational system issues 
  • Diagnose and prioritize issues
  • Determine necessary actions
  • Communicate with relevant individuals within other departments in the organization
  • Proof system issues in test system and suggest structural solutions in cooperation with Ops

2.    Process improvements

  • Analyze current transport and warehouse processes, order creation process and delivery process to determine improvement possibilities
  • Analyze current IT systems (warehouse management system, transport management system) to determine improvement possibilities
  • Initiate development and support implementation incl testing of new systems and processes
  • Translate business needs into processes and system requirements to increase efficiency 
  • Share knowledge with internal contacts to increase visibility
  • Gather information regarding new processes, systems or trends to have up to date knowledge
  • Work according to standard SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)

3.    Reporting

  • Create business cases and ROI reports to reveal improvement possibilities
  • Prepare project status updates with potential warning, successes and general overview for Senior Management to keep all stakeholders aligned and up to date

Profile

Acting as a logistics engineer, you'll need to have: 

  • MBO level in Logistics or supply chain
  • Minimum of 3 years in Logistics
  • Transport and Warehouse Management Systems
  • English in speaking and writing
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)

Nice to have: 

  • Warehouse engineering and business process design experience 
  • Project management skills
  • Analytical skills 
  • Critical thinker, pragmatic and data driven
  • Experience with AutoCad drawing and warehouse layout creation
  • Experience with warehouse automation
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles
