Purpose of the job

  • Support business projects in Europe and CIS by developing new technologies and Material handling solutions for existing and new warehouse solutions.
  • Analyze customer profile and translate into efficient and cost-effective automation / MHS designs
  • Design layouts, processes of the proposed solutions or improvements.
  • Provide project plan including timelines, estimated material needs and costs.
  • Build a technology and automation data base; including capacities, costs and system connectivity capacity (by consulting widely and with Logistics Systems Integration Engineer).
  • Find new technologies and equipment considering specification
  • Manage the ideal technology to implement or to put in Pipeline list
  • Build contact and manage relation with technology and MH suppliers
  • Coordinate purchasing processes
  • Generate RFP, define equipment specifications
  • Evaluate technical aspects & Confirm equipment specifications
  • Make contract and generate PO
  • Preparing automation and MHE to be examined.
  • Perform user trainings and coaching; generate Work instruction, safety measures.
  • Support operations implementation (new tech)

Profile

  • At least HBO / Bachelor degree, preferably a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, supply chain and logistics management or related technical engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a logistics environment and relevant role (industrial engineering, Solution engineer or design warehouse automation equipment)
  • Conceptual and analytical thinker with the focus on the finalization of objectives
  • Hands-on mentality, eager to take initiatives, determine opportunities and deliver targets.
  • Detail oriented, and keeping the helicopter view and yet able to prioritize the areas needing focus.
  • Have a good sense of urgency and work towards customer satisfaction with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to sketch, plan and perform designs creatively.
  • Good understanding of the automation and technology impacts and pre-requisite.
  • Have a financial affinity in term of ROI and cost savings.  
  • Familiarity with technical specifications and standards.
  • Familiarity with the regulations, codes of practice and standards imposed on technical procedures.
  • Testing practices: understanding of common testing procedures in engineering.
  • Familiarity with the auditing, checking, assessment procedures/processes of automation and technology.
  • Good experience with computer assisted design such as Autocad, Sketchup.
  • Good MS office skills
  • Experience with WMS systems
  • Practical experience in operation management is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Simulation Tools and Virtual warehouse systems is a Pre
