We are looking for a fulltime Claims and Logistics Specialist for SDSNL non-captive team, main location Maasvlakte- Rotterdam.
As the Claims Specialist, you will coordinate and maintain an overview of all claims by receiving, analyzing and taking necessary actions to process and resolve claims incidents and escalations.

Purpose of the job

KEY ACTIVITIES

 

  • Claims management: Be the lead in Claims, both warehouse/transport as well as facilities related. Ensure a correct and timely follow-up by involving all relevant teams and stakeholders;
  • Communication: Act as primary contact person for warehouse and logistics service provider in order to collect, maintain and follow up on claims;
  • Ops: Gather and register information and documentation in order to adjudge the validity of a claim;
  • Ops: Create and send a liability letter in case of a valid claim in order to start the claim settling process between customer, logistics service provider and insurance company. Inform relevant stakeholders regarding each new claims;
  • Admin: Upload and manage claims in SDS internal administration process systems. Escalate substantial claims to Head of Department;
  • Ops/Finance: Check if the compensation is booked on time and if the amount is correct;
  • Finance: analyze and monitor claims; taking ownership of the full financial logistics process by communicating with customers and internal stakeholders where required
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze claims in order to define problem areas and suggest short long term improvements.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you will need recent and basic level of experience in the logistics industry, specifically transport and warehousing. Having a passion to resolve issues and to enthusiastically connect internal and external stakeholders will make you an ideal candidate for this role.

 

We are looking for a colleague with:

  • A natural passion to provide excellent customer service and a passion for digging into problems for a solution;
  • Knowlege of PowerBI
  • Knowledge of (Business) English and native Dutch;
  • Professional communication skills in order to align with both external and internal customers and stakeholders;
  • Previous experience in a logistics environment; specifically in claims / damage / returns handling will be advantage;
  • A tertiary qualification in logistics will be an advantage e.g. MBO (logistiek)
  • Driver license, living in Rotterdam area, willing to travel 40%
