Profile

KEY ACTIVITIES

Reporting to the Site Manager, will manage the following activities, focusing in cost saving targets, vendors service level increasing, applying a continuous improvement approach.

 

Facility & Equipment

 

  • Supervises the maintenance of the warehouse to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is of the highest quality.
  • Maintains an adequate parts inventory, accurate work records and plan workload ensuring proper job priority to meet the needs of operations.
  • Recommends new equipment purchases and evaluates replacement needs
  • Manage maintenance vendors (such as cleaning, security, utilities, building systems, landlord), and equipment vendors (such as material handling equipment, office and IT equipment).
  • Maintain the building and its' components by applying preventive and predictive maintenance techniques to maximize the useful life of the facility.
  • Set the calendar and monitor the execution of ordinary maintenance, support procurement and finance in cost and billing controlling related to maintenance.
  • As regards extraordinary maintenance, define technical requirements and plan the execution.
  • Support Procurement in vendor scouting, RFI, RFQ and contract drafting.
  • Manage the digital and paper archive of maintenance documents and building system documents.

 

Health & Safety

 

  • Act as SPOC for warehouse Health and Safety: define calendar of activities and set deadlines, in agreement with the law provision and with the external RSPP.
  • In charge of risk analysis with the support of RSPP: responsible for the continuous improvement plan to reduce risks and implement new projects for H&S.
  • Supervises the observance of general safety regulations and rules pertaining to the use of warehouse equipment.
  • Provide full support to the external RSPP in case of Audit and work as a partner for the Site Manager for any internal or external request, periodic and ad hoc audit.
  • Assists in the training of personnel in safety, proper equipment use, and emergency procedures.
  • Keep the digital and paper archive of H&S documents.

 

Warehouse consumables procurement

  • Consumables stock and inventory management
  • Define the procurement plan together with central procurement of local HQ based in Milano and with regional HQ in The Netherlands.
  • Maintains documents, files, reports and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.

In addition to the above soft skills:

 

  • High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, supplemented by coursework in facility management, purchasing, business administration or related field.
  • At least 5 years managing health & safety, maintenance and procurement in a plant or in a warehouse.
  • Strong overall knowledge of maintenance of a warehouse or a plant, full proficiency of Environment, Health and Safety Laws applicable in Italy.
  • Good knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and procedures including best safety practices.
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office Suite products, MS Project, Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  • Good knowledge of English language both written and spoken. Able to handle conversations in English, both on the phone and in the presence.
