Purpose of the job

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

In the role of Junior Logistic Specialist, You will be responsible for handling and scheduling transportation services within a dedicated team. This includes operational as well as quality aspects of the service provided to our customers. You report to the operations manager and are in contact with our customers, partners, as well as other departments within our company. You work in our offices in Milan. This job is a good opportunity for a beginner who wants to try to get closer to the logistic and supply chain world in a market leading company.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Operations:

  • Customer booking activities: booking and follow-up of external carriers and transportation services.
  • Optimize the order and load consolidation
  • Finding solutions to satisfy customers transportation needs, dealing with capacity problems, managing uncertainty and changes in planned volumes.
  • Customer service in case of problems during the delivery process
  • Daily alignment with the Logistics Provider

Process Improvement:

  • Increase order consolidation and truck optimization 

Reporting:

  • Monitoring KPI: on time delivery, lead time, shipment consolidation, etc.
  • Monitoring transportation processes: respect of loading date and time, planned delivery date.

Profile

PROFILE – COMPETENCE

 

For this role, we are looking for a candidate with good analytical skills, a flexible and problem-solver approach, with a good hands-on mentality, able to work in teams.

 

We are looking for an employee with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Logistics, Engineering, Economy, International languages.
  • A short experience in a logistics department in fast growing companies.
  • Eager to learn and/or deepen knowledge on transportation, warehousing and supply chain management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional, multi-cultural teams.
  • Positive thinker with a “can do, will do” spirit and a change agent mentality.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team, share problems and advices.
  • Ability to meet deadline in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to cope with stress and a positive attitude to a  smooth handling of issues.
  • Basic /good MS Office skills (Excel)

Applicants must speak italian in a fluent way and have a good knowledge of English (written and spoken), necessary to perform  the activities of the role.
