Purpose of the job

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Manage the Benelux logistics operation (3PL and Samsung DC) for our customer Samsung Electronics Benelux in order to deliver goods according to contractual agreements with the sales subsidiary and in accordance with logistics key performance indicators.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES

Within the European Logistics organization you are responsible for the Benelux Logistics operation.

The related tasks are:

  • Manage the relationship with European logistics on the one hand and sales subsidiary SCM department on the other.
  • Follow and implement local logistics strategy and determine short to mid-term planning.
  • Setup the logistics forecast based on input from sales subsidiary and actual logistics cost plan per division and report this to the Logistics Management.
  • Partner with the LSP and manage the relationship, reach logistics KPI’s and achieve optimal performance.
  • Manage the co-operation with Samsung DC in order to make sure that interests of both sales and logistics are considered in the logistics operation.
  • Support the Samsung Electronics Europe Logistics (SELS) Innovation department in the execution of projects with a European scope.
  • Create and present business cases to Logistics and Sales management team.
  • Lead and execute projects which improve local operation and decrease logistics costs.
  • Manage the logistics team (headcount = 5).
  • Create an optimum working environment within the department and challenge the team members to develop themselves and the department.

PROFILE

For this role we are looking for a Logistics manager with experience in warehousing and distribution who is able to combine operational, tactical and project management activities.

 

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English;
  • Strong cultural and communication skills;
  • Customer focus.
  • Persuasion skills.
  • He/she is a flexible problem-solver with a strong hands-on mentality.

We are looking for a manager with:

  • A Bachelor/Master degree in Logistics/SCM
  • 5-7 years working experience in a relevant logistics/SCM role
  • A proficient level of English
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Experience with ERP system
